Our waitress, Julie, could not have been better. She was efficient, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. I chose the special of the day, which was a cup of Orange carrot soup and a grilled Swiss cheese and ham sandwich. The sandwich was enormous and had one of the most tender pieces of ham I have ever had. It was a thick slice of ham rather than the deli – type ham one often gets. It was absolutely delicious. My friends each had salads. One was a strawberry spinach salad and the other was a garden salad. Both were described as very good. All in all, a most pleasant visit.
Food was amazing. My wife had the best meatloaf she's ever had in a restaurant. German sampler platter was great. Service was a bit off but spoke with manager and hopefully nobody else will have the same issue. Definitely worth checking out.
If you want their beer, I'd recommend going to the brewery instead or picking it up from the store.
My wife and I sat at the bar and enjoyed some buffalo dip and a football game! There's a crazy hole that goes several dozen feet down right by the foot-rests covered only by a glass cover. Adds to the atmosphere.
The worst part though, was unrelated to the meal. While we were there, another patron threw up on the floor near our table. While this is obviously disgusting, I understand that this is a party time of the year, whatever. However, about 20 minutes later, the same girl threw up AGAIN near our table (we were near the restrooms). Despite this, her and her party were not asked to leave.
Two of my friends and I visited The Tin Mill restaurant on Thursday May 25, 2017. Since it was so beautiful outside we opted to sit on the patio. That was the only negative. The road noise was quite distracting - most probably because of numerous motorcycles and semis. But hey! it's on highway 100!
I'd like to preface this only review that I've ever given by saying that we've been to the brewery across the street a few times and have had wonderful service and a great time, very cool bartenders, so please don't let this review deter from going there. I'd also like to say that the hostess that was there was very sweet, warm and friendly, and probably the best part of the visit. It took forever. Our server just seemed really angry at life. We are a pretty easy to please group. Most have worked or still work in the bar and restaurant industry, so we are pretty patient and forgiving. The food was subpar, but probably would have been better warm. I think many of the fails stemmed from our server's lack of attention/customer service/ability to be friendly. We certainly don't need our asses kissed, but even the smallest amount of kindness would have been cool. My dad politely asked another server about the beer, and if they sold six packs of it, and was told he didn't know and he could buy it at local gas stations. This place has potential. Maybe some friendlier servers with a good work ethic could be business changing. The worst service we've ever had.
This is an unfortunate review, mostly because the beer here was pretty good (the doppelbock especially), and the schnitzel was excellent. Aside from that, dinner was kind of a disaster. Service was slowish initially, but I understand this is the busy season, and a small town. Our drinks took a long time to come out and were incorrect the first time. About an hour later, half of our food arrived, and upon asking for the rest our server seemed to forget about it. We ordered another round of drinks to replace the first one, which also never came. Lastly, closing out took an inordinate amount of time, despite half our order not even existing in the first place.
